Essential Cinema: Part of a series celebrating Moreau's work behind the camera, this French coming-of-age drama follows a 13-year-old girl in 1939 as she becomes taken with an adult doctor and war looms on the horizon.

The Austin Empty Bowl Project is an effort by Austin area potters to fight hunger, raising funds for Kids Cafe, a program of the Central Texas Food Bank, and Meals for Kids, a program of Meals on Wheels Central Texas. Suzanna Choffel, Hardened & Tempered, and Libby Koch will perform, and there'll be a silent auction and ceramic bowls available for purchase. Tara Srinivasan, an Austin-born 14-year-old, is set to achieve a momentous milestone of completing her Bharatanatyam Arangetram, the result of almost 10 years of dedicated training. This performance consists of a 2.5-hour solo dance with a live orchestra, in India’s oldest classical dance form.

A staggering 602 cats and dogs are currently in foster homes through Austin Pets Alive! as they eagerly await the arrival of adoptive families.
